About

Published by admin

Our winery is in Walla Walla, Washington, the home of great wines, onions and windmills.  We are a small, family run business that is dedicated entirely to the wines we love.

Dowsett Family currently produces a dry Gewurztraminer from the Celilo Vineyard, and a Southern Rhone/Australian/Spanish - style red wine blend of Syrah, Mourvedre, and Grenache from three different appellations, which we have named the Devotion.

To join our mailing list, please send your information to info@dowsettwines.com.  For availability and purchasing information, please email or call 509-520-8215.  We can currently take checks, Mastercard or Visa.

Thank you for your interest in our wines.

    Hi Chris-

I am doing some “surfing” during lunch-at-my-desk and look- found something! When Brian and I were in WW for last Holiday Barrel Tasting we asked Vicki Schlicker where you were- and she filled us in on Artifex- but wasn’t sure about the status of Latitude.

We are carefully metering our few bottles from you in our celler. Now we can figure there will be more down the road? Yowza! I was on your previous mailing list- so perhaps will be “grandmothered” into the new venture.

Brian and I are coming north for HBT again this year- maybe we can find you for a visit? Meet for breakfast or dinner? Hope you are agreeable- and our very best wishes in the meantime.

Hi Chris, glad to see you on FB, and so happy to see your winery doing so well! I would love to try one of your family wines sometime. Is there a distributor in the DC metro area that carries your wine? Unfortunately we live in MD, and they don’t permit delivery of wine to homes. There is a fabulous wine bar/store nearby however - if you don’t have a distributor out here, maybe I can get them to order your wine?

Have a great new year, and look forward to a great gewurtz!

    All our best,

The Ngaruri -Kenney family (Melissa, David, and Mackenzie)

    Great to hear from you,

We are currently only available in Oregon and Washington. We are working with an old friend that distributes wine in the Boston area, to try and get wines to the eastern shore!

There are a few wine shops that can ship to many different states. http://www.avalonwine.com in Oregon, and McCarthy and Schiering in Seattle are great sources.

It is fun to hear from people that are so far away, hope all is well…

    Hi ya Chris

Its been a long time, but I hear that you are doing well. I am still surviving in the corperate world of Fosters, making the reserve red wines for Rosemount. Not a bad gig living in McLaren Vale, I have just come back from having fish and chips on the beach and watching the sunset. Its been hot today … about 35C and very dry. Its great to watch the daughter run in the surf and chase the gulls.

Vintage is just about to hit again, we will be doing some sparkling base next week, and then slowly into some early Chardonnay. I hope this vintage is normal and we dont have the heat waves we suffered last year. I also managed to do a vintage in Spain last year, but once again, due to lots of mould it will not go down as a great vintage either. Lost of fun though, including the 2 weeks I spent in France ( Bordeaux / Burgundy ). Hope things are well with you and the family.

    Andrew
